The Executive Chairman/CEO of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (Pi-CNG), Barr. Ismaeel Ahmed, has undertaken an inspection tour of the newly commissioned, state-of-the-art Bajaj three-wheeler manufacturing plant in Ikeja, Lagos — a facility set to redefine local production capacity in Nigeria’s mobility sector.
Hosted by DAG Industries Nigeria Ltd., the high-level visit featured a comprehensive walkthrough of the expansive plant.
The Pi-CNG team reviewed its advanced production lines, automated testing systems, precision assembly operations, and the highly skilled Nigerian workforce at the heart of its output.
Built to meet global manufacturing and safety standards, the facility is poised to fast-track the domestic production of reliable, energy-efficient two- and three-wheelers designed to meet Nigeria’s transport realities, especially in urban and peri-urban communities.
During an engagement session with the company’s leadership, discussions centred on strategic partnerships aimed at scaling local vehicle manufacturing, strengthening technology transfer, and accelerating collaboration with the Pi-CNG Initiative. Both parties highlighted opportunities to integrate more CNG-powered mobility solutions into the plant’s production pipeline — a move that aligns directly with the Federal Government’s clean-energy transition plan.
Barr. Ahmed described the plant as a “critical asset” for Nigeria’s emerging green mobility ecosystem, noting that such industrial investments contribute to job creation, energy security, and reduced transportation costs for Nigerians.
The visit reaffirms Pi-CNG’s commitment to deepening sustainable transportation, expanding CNG adoption nationwide, and supporting local industries that are central to Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda.
