FRSC Conducts ICT-Driven Promotion Exercise For Over 10,000 Personnel

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has successfully overseen the conduct of the 2026 Promotion Exercise for more than 10,005 personnel nationwide, leveraging modern technology to ensure transparency, fairness and inclusiveness in one of the largest promotion exercises in the history of the Corps.
The exercise involved 3,597 Intermediate Rank Officers and 6,408 Junior Officers drawn from commands across the country.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Corps Public Education Officer, Deputy Corps Commander Osondu Ohaeri, the FRSC said the promotion exercise was driven by cutting-edge Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platforms deliberately deployed to eliminate bottlenecks, enhance operational efficiency and guarantee equal opportunities for all eligible personnel.
According to the statement, the technology-driven approach ensured that candidates were assessed strictly on merit, competence and performance, while promoting transparency and credibility throughout the process.
To further strengthen accountability and compliance with established guidelines, the exercise, which commenced across the Corps’ 12 Zonal Commands on June 14, 2026, was monitored through the deployment of surveillance cameras. Representatives of the Corps Marshal supervised the process alongside observers from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Federal Character Commission.
The observers monitored the exercise to ensure adherence to the FRSC Promotion Policy and the Federal Character Principle.
A major highlight of the promotion exercise was the successful integration of personnel pursuing academic and professional programmes outside Nigeria. Through innovative ICT solutions, eligible officers on studies abroad were able to participate remotely without interrupting their educational commitments.
The Corps noted that the initiative underscored the Corps Marshal’s commitment to ensuring that no staff member is disadvantaged because of geographical location or efforts at self-development.
The statement further described the exercise as a reflection of Shehu Mohammed’s strategic vision of building a highly motivated, professional and future-ready workforce where excellence, diligence, innovation and commitment are recognised and rewarded.
“By placing career progression at the centre of his leadership agenda, the Corps Marshal has continued to strengthen staff confidence in the system while promoting a culture of productivity, accountability and healthy competition within the organisation,” the statement said.
Under Mohammed’s leadership, the FRSC has implemented a series of reforms aimed at improving personnel welfare, strengthening institutional capacity and leveraging technology to enhance service delivery.
The successful conduct of the 2026 promotion exercise, according to the Corps, demonstrates its commitment to institutionalising best practices and building a modern, digitally driven organisation that prioritises the growth and aspirations of its workforce.
The Corps added that the exercise serves as a reminder that professionalism, dedication and hard work remain key criteria for career advancement within the organisation, while reaffirming its commitment to building a motivated workforce capable of delivering on its mandate of ensuring safer roads for all Nigerians.
