The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has elected the Publisher of NewsDiaryOnline.com, Danlami Nmodu as president for an initial two-year term.
The new GOCOP national executive under the leadership of Nmodu was inaugurated in Lagos on Thursday.
The election was conducted on Wednesday at Radisson Blu Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
Nmodu was elected alongside six other members of the national executive.
Mr Nmodu takes over from Maureen Chigbo, the publisher of Realnews Magazine.
Nmodu secured 63 votes while his opponent, the Publisher of World Stage.com, got 18 votes.
The Publishers from different parts of the country who gathered in Lagos for the 9th Annual General Congress (AGC) also elected
the publisher of Qed.ng, Olumide Iyanda as vice president, publisher of The Conclave, Sufuyan Ojeifo as general secretary, Akeem Oyetunji, the publisher of Prompt News as deputy secretary general, Ngozi Onyekusi, the publisher of SuperNews.ng as treasurer, Moses Ebosele, publisher of City Business News Online as financial secretary and Frontline News Online publisher, Kemi Yesufu as publicity secretary.
