The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 16 officers and airmen/airwomen following the successful completion of a six-month in-house training programme on the Citation Sovereign aircraft for engineering personnel of the 307 Executive Airlift Group (EAG).
The training is part of the NAF’s deliberate investment in human capacity development and technical self-reliance, in line with the command philosophy of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, which prioritises structured training, professional development and mission-focused capability development.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Commander, 307 EAG, Air Commodore OA Oluwatayo, expressed appreciation to the CAS for the support and opportunity to conduct the programme.
Oluwatayo described the training as a significant milestone in strengthening the Group’s engineering capability and internal maintenance capacity.
He noted that the competence and professionalism of engineering personnel remained critical to aircraft availability, safety and operational effectiveness.
According to him, the knowledge and practical skills acquired by the graduates would further enhance maintenance standards, fleet serviceability and operational readiness.
The Guest of Honour, Chief of Aircraft Engineering, Air Vice Marshal OS Ogunsina, represented by the Director of Aircraft Engineering, AVM Dakwat, also commended the instructors and participants for the successful completion of the programme.
He urged the graduates to build on the training by embracing greater professional responsibility and applying their knowledge to sustain high standards of aircraft maintenance and safety.
A statement explained that the programme further reinforces the NAF’s commitment to developing a highly skilled, professionally competent and technically self-reliant workforce capable of sustaining its platforms and delivering safe, reliable and effective air operations.
