The National President of the Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), Mrs. Aisha Idi Abbas, on Friday, 28 November 2025, led members of the association on a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.
In her remarks, Mrs. Abbas expressed profound appreciation to the CNS for the warm reception and highlighted the long-standing contributions of NOWA to the wellbeing of naval families.
She reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with her executives to further strengthen the association’s positive image and deepen its impact.
The NOWA President also outlined a series of new initiatives aimed at creating a stronger social safety system for officers’ wives and families. These initiatives, she noted, would provide enhanced support structures and promote the welfare of naval households. She appealed for the continued backing of the CNS to ensure successful implementation of the association’s programmes.
Responding, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas commended the NOWA leadership for the visit and encouraged the association to maintain its vital support to naval personnel and their families.
He further urged NOWA to expand its engagements to include the wives of naval ratings, and to increase philanthropic activities, particularly those targeted at supporting the less privileged.
The visit underscores NOWA’s commitment to fostering unity, welfare, and community impact within the naval family.
