The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police to the Railway and Maritime Commands as part of a broader redeployment of senior officers aimed at strengthening security across critical national infrastructure.
The postings form part of the deployment of a newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), Mohammed Usaini Gumel, and 17 Commissioners of Police to strategic departments, commands, and formations nationwide to enhance operational capacity, leadership effectiveness, public safety, and service delivery within the Nigeria Police Force.
Under the new arrangement, CP Lasisi A. Titilola has been deployed as Commissioner of Police, Railway Command, Lagos, while CP Cyril Uchenna Obiozo has been appointed Commissioner of Police, Maritime Command, Lagos. In addition, CP Adepegba K. Adetoye has been posted to head the Marine Unit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, further reinforcing security along Nigeria’s rail corridors, inland waterways, and maritime assets.
The IGP also approved other key deployments, including the posting of DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel to the Force Intelligence Department (FID). CP Aina Adesola was deployed to the Delta State Police Command, CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia to the Kebbi State Police Command, and CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor to the Bayelsa State Police Command.
Other postings include CP Osagie John Agans-Irabor as Commissioner of Police, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos; CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola as Commissioner of Police, Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja; CP Tabitha Bako as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Kaduna; CP Umar Ali Fagge as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja; and CP Audu Garba Bosso as Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, FCID Annex, Kaduna.
Also deployed are CP Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbeghagha as Commissioner of Police, Community Policing, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Arikpo Ofem Ikpi as Commissioner of Police, Investment Office, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Samuel Yerima as Coordinator of Courses, Police Staff College, Jos; CP Alhaji Mohammed Danlandi as Commissioner of Police, X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Richard Bala Gara as Commissioner of Police, Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters; and CP Obuagbaka C. John as Commissioner of Police, Safer Highway, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP charged the newly deployed senior officers to bring their wealth of experience to bear by providing purposeful and result-oriented leadership, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in strict adherence to the rule of law.
A statement issued by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer explained that the redeployment reflects a renewed commitment to securing critical transport corridors and maritime domains, while repositioning the Force for greater efficiency and responsiveness to national security needs.
