Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule has described PAN Nigeria Limited, assemblers of Peugeot brand of vehicles, as “a pride of the Nigerian economy.”
He made this remarks when a team of the Management of PAN led by General Manager (Strategy & Marketing), Mr. Bawo Omagbitse, representing the Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, visited him at Government House, Lafia.
Governor Sule also pledged to patronise made-in-Nigeria vehicles considering the highly commendable history of the brand in Nigeria and PAN’s entrenched quality standards.
A statement explained that he commended the management for its dexterity and adaptation to new trends in automotive technology.
He added that his administration is deeply committed to skills acquisition for youth empowerment and will partner with PAN Learning Centre (PLC) in training youths of the State in auto mechanics, auto mechatronics and other certifications offered by PLC to enhance the entrepreneurial capacity of the youths in the State.
In his opening remarks, GM Strategy & Marketing, Mr. Bawo Omagbitse, congratulated the governor on his recent election victory and his commitment towards assembling the best team to run the affairs of the State.
He explained that the PAN Management Team was at the Government House to introduce the brand, as well as explore opportunities for sustainable collaboration with the State.
Omagbitse said “what we are hoping to do with Nasarawa State is a sustainable partnership, where the broad range of our Company’s products will be delivered and supported at the most competitive cost and convenience”.
He also said he hoped that PAN and the State Government could have an arrangement where young people of the State could have access to excellent vocational skills training at PAN Learning Centre and progressing to establish their own service garages through the Shade Tree Youth Empowerment Initiative (STYEI), a CSR program of PAN in association with partner organizations.
