Tinubu Embarks On France, Kenya, Rwanda Trip

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation visit to France, Kenya and Rwanda, as part of efforts to deepen diplomatic and economic ties.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s first stop will be France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.
In Nairobi, Tinubu will participate in the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 and 12. The summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.
The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will focus on key issues including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms to the global financing architecture. It is also expected to address economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and peace-building across the continent.
The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African countries and France.
Following the Nairobi engagement, the President will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 and 15.
The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will centre on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investment. Organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, the event is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers.
At both summits, Tinubu is expected to showcase his administration’s economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading investment destination, while also engaging with African and global business leaders.
The President will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
