United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has announced plans to host the latest edition of its quarterly UBA Business Series, with a focus on helping businesses transform customer feedback into technology-driven solutions tailored to Africa’s unique realities.
The virtual event, scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. (WAT), is themed “Building for Africa’s Realities: Turning Consumer Feedback into Technology-Driven Solutions.” It will bring together entrepreneurs, investors and innovators to discuss how businesses can develop products and services that effectively address the needs of African consumers.
The session will be streamed live across UBA’s digital platforms, including the bank’s YouTube channel, allowing participants from across the continent and beyond to join the conversation.
The panel will feature renowned rapper and entrepreneur M.I Abaga, venture capitalist and co-founder of Octerra Capital, Ashim Egunjobi, and co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chowdeck, Femi Aluko. The discussion will be moderated by media entrepreneur and founder, Adaora Mbelu.
The speakers are expected to share practical insights from their entrepreneurial journeys, highlighting the importance of listening to customers, refining products based on feedback, and building innovative solutions that respond to Africa’s dynamic market conditions.
Speaking ahead of the event, UBA’s Group Head of Brands, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said the initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and businesses driving Africa’s economic growth.
According to her, successful African businesses thrive by paying close attention to their customers rather than making assumptions about their needs.
“The best African businesses are not guessing what their customers want; they are listening, adapting and building accordingly,” Ladipo said.
She added that the UBA Business Series aims to provide entrepreneurs with practical knowledge while fostering honest conversations around product development, technology and business growth.
“When our businesses build for Africa’s realities, the whole continent benefits,” she stated.
The UBA Business Series has evolved into a leading knowledge-sharing platform that equips entrepreneurs, professionals and business leaders with the tools, strategies and insights needed to build resilient businesses and navigate an increasingly competitive business environment.
UBA serves more than 45 million customers across 20 African countries, with operations also spanning the United Kingdom, the United States, France and the United Arab Emirates.
