The Federal Governmet has challenged financial services sector in Nigeria to support ongoing efforts to tackle corruption, terrorism and money laundering in Nigeria.
Speaking at the 10th Annual Banking and Finance Conference in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari said
Battle against economic crime is critical to the development of the nation.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Mahmoud Isa-Dutse, Buhari urged banks to go beyond policy obligations to leveraging on information and communication technology to develop strategies to counter challenges facing the sector in the fight against corruption.
He explained that the Treasury Single Account was a tough decision, adding that it had entrenched transparency and probity on public financing.
